The Strati team of engineers, cloud technologists, and product leaders are responsible for the public and private cloud infrastructure to help our technology and business partners build and deliver products and services to both internal and external customers.

Chaos engineering is a discipline that organizations must practice in the age of the public cloud to ensure that any weaknesses in distributed systems are uncovered and fixed.

As Principal Software Engineer, you will lead a group chartered to successfully develop, define and deliver a product line for making Walmart eCommerce and store systems a resilient ecosystem. You must possess a unique blend of technical and business understanding; strategic planning, and the drive to deliver. You must be able to effectively communicate and build collaboration at all areas and levels of the business and engineering. An ideal candidate will be adept at architecting large scale distributed systems and is coding in Java, Python

Responsibilities include:

• Proven ability to provide technology leadership for complex products
• Innovative solution owner that drives technical vision and influences product roadmap and vision
• Product expert with deep understanding of the business processes, technical solutions, and systems landscape
• Influences decisions, builds consensus, and resolves conflicts constructively and proactively
• Influences senior leadership
• Mentors team members
• Recognized technology thought leader
• Build solutions that enable sophisticated automation and workflows
• Help the team leverage and contribute to open source technologies
• Make impact on a global scale

Minimum Qualifications


• Bachelor's Degree, related field and 10-12 years OR Master's Degree, related field and 5-8 years of experience
• Proven industry experience with large scale distributed systems
• Solid experience with object-oriented and/or event driven systems
• Strong Python and Java programming experience
• Scripting skills in at least one of the following: Shell, Perl, Bash, or Ruby
• Extensive experience troubleshooting production systems
• Building tools for monitoring and alerting
