Walmart.com's new leadership are driving for data driven decision making across the entire organization. To support this transformation, we have built a world-class Product Analytics group within the Product Management team. We are looking for a seasoned analytics professional to lead our search analytics team. We hope you have a strong analytics background - but more importantly a passion in building world class product. You will be working closely with search product, engineering, UX team. You will be providing analytical insights, sizing product opportunities, monitoring product health, measuring product performance, and help bring Walmart search product to the next level. You are passionate about helping Walmart build, test and launch amazing product experiences by being a critical part of the broader search team.

We are hiring for the director of search analytics to provide analytic support, coaching and leadership to the product analytics team as they execute analytics project with their product partners. The person needs to be hands on with technical detail but also being able to provide high level guidance to the team. You love sitting down and helping solve problems and push the boundaries to drive quality and excellence in analytics. You want to be recognized as a thought leader in this space and a mentor to many. You use your business judgement to decide when to take ownership (to expedite decision making) and when to coach (to build team strength in the longer term). Ultimately you help our product teams to build product with the minimum of fuss and maximum impact.

• Strong analytics background with track record of delivering complicated analytics project
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Customer focused and passionate about using data to drive business growth
• Intellectual curiosity and attention to detail
• Ability to mentor high performance analytics teams
• Comfortable using the available data to help make decisions
• Strong SQL skills and experience using HIVE
• R, Python, Scala programmer - happy with a command line interface
• Experienced working with massive, messy data sets
• Organized when analyzing data and conducting research
• Clear and unambiguous when making commitments and always follows up on promises
• Understands product development in leading technology companies

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 7 years experience in eCommerce product management, management consulting, or related field OR 11 years experience in eCommerce product management, management consulting, or related field.
  • 2 years supervisory experience.

Additional Preferred Qualifications


Experience in eCommerce industry
Experience in search domain
Experience working as an analyst / data science consultant
