Position Description


Are you an experienced Web Analytics Guru seeking an exciting challenge? Would you like to design and implement Marketing web analytics strategy to improve media effectiveness and customer conversion at the world’s largest omni-channel retailer?

As Web Analytics Director, you will have the opportunity to build out more advanced site analysis capabilities for the Marketing Team.

This is a broad role that covers both day-to-day insights and big picture analysis. You will work with Marketing and various cross-functional business partners to derive key insights and support functional and strategic needs.

Responsibilities:

Develop insights to drive growth:
•Democratize data by ensuring marketers have the tools and knowledge necessary to conduct day to day analysis.
•Develop standardized dashboards and perform ad hoc analysis for channel, category, and seasonal marketing to make significant business strategy recommendations.
•Uncover opportunities for A/B and multivariate testing to be performed in partnership with your peers
•Weave the story behind the data, with a focus towards driving action.
•Regularly communicate key insights and recommendations to senior leaders across the organization..
•Analyze complex data sets

Build web analytics capabilities:
•Translate business needs into clear business requirements to measure and understand the success of our digital activities, and partner with internal product and engineering teams to ensure our web analytics solution meets those requirements.
•Work with the Director of Web Analytics and Experimentation to develop long term vision for Web Analytics.


  • Develops business strategies for assigned Marketing categories (for example, search engine optimization (SEO))
  • Develops continuous improvements to online marketing systems, processes, and capabilities
  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects
  • Ensures business needs are being met
  • Manages the budget for assigned Marketing category (for example, search engine optimization (SEO))
  • Manages vendor relationships and contracts for Marketing initiatives
  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
  • Provides guidance across the company (for example, international markets) regarding Marketing processes
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates

Minimum Qualifications


The ideal candidate needs strong subject matter knowledge and experience:

•BS/BA in Math, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field or equivalent, relevant work experience.
•5-7+ years' experience working within website analytics.
•Expert with website analytics tools including Adobe Analytics/Omniture and Google Analytics.
•Experience with third party data management and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
•Familiarity with Tag management systems preferred (GTM (preferred), Tealium DTM or other).
•Excellent SQL skills; Experience with Python, Tableau a plus.

A track record of cross-functional partnership, strong execution, and influencing action is also critical:

•Demonstrated thought leadership and relationship building/management with internal stakeholders and external partners.
•Knack for driving culture and process change in matrixed organizations.
•Ability to effectively manage complex projects, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, and be a self-starter.
•Track record of delivering action-oriented analysis and recommendations, focused on business outcomes.

Additional Preferred Qualifications


•Experience with Analytical Data Science - partnering with Machine Learning Engineers to execute complex predictive and descriptive big data applications.
•Advanced data science or engineering degree.
•Development experience.
•Entrepreneurial, scrappy, ‘find a way to win’ attitude.
